To remain competitive, pulp and paper producers are constantly seeking ways to reduce production costs. As wood supply costs are relatively fixed, reducing production costs will have to be achieved through energy savings. This talk will focus on main line TMP control, pulp quality interaction with energy and impact on energy savings for cost reduction It will be provided benchmarks and how to assess variability. With minimal capital investment, reducing predictable variability through improving TMP operation by identifying the source of variability and repairing faulty equipment can result in initial energy savings. Implementing control of specific energy or freeness can also lead to additional energy savings. |
