The goal of the community is to improve the technical knowledge of its members in all the areas of mechanical pulping, and to provide networking opportunities. This can be achieved through active participation in the community, mill visits, technical presentations and discussions.
- To promote a strong mechanical pulping contacts network.
- To educate members through presentations and discussion of new technologies, ideas, projects, safety incidents, and problems.
- Visit mills where technological features are of interest to members. We have a preference of visiting new mills and mills that have recently installed new equipment or processes.
The community usually organizes sessions for the program of PaperWeek Canada. As well, several community members participate on the Technical Program Committee for the biennial International Mechanical Pulping Conference (IMPC).
