Effluent discharges from pulp and paper mills are regulated for aquatic toxicity. FPInnovations (FPI) has been involved in the investigation of causes of effluent toxicity for over 15 years. Based on this experience, FPI has developed a streamlined approach for diagnosing pulp and paper effluent toxicity. The webinar will describe the diagnosis of a toxicity episode using the streamlined approach.

Valerie Naish is the Principal Technical Specialist - Environment and Sustainability, at FPInnovations. She has over 35 years of experience working in the environment field for the pulp and paper industry. She is currently working for the Aquatic Biology Laboratory at FPInnovations, with her primary expertise being the impact of effluents on aquatic toxicity and reproductive effects in fish and invertebrates.
