    Environment

The Environment Community provides a venue for liaison between personnel responsible for environmental issues within the pulp and paper industry to foster the exchange of technical information on environmental issues and ideas so that the individuals involved can solve environmental problems in the most cost effective manner possible.

    The community also proceeds to:

    • Solicit and select technical papers for PaperWeek Canada.
    • Ensure a liaison with the Forest Products Association of Canada on environmental issues
    • Form sub-committees on an "as required basis" to study and report on specific environmental issues
    • Hold community meetings and conference calls that generally include presentations on topical issues, and a roundtable where mill staff share solutions to problems informally. Minutes are circulated to all members, and copies are available on request to the Chairman.
