News Release to Members

PAPTAC ALKALINE PULPING COMMUNITY

PAPTAC is pleased to announce that the Alkaline Pulping Community (APC) is resuming its activities.

In response to the growing demand from mill members to see this forum return, PAPTAC has been actively working at rebuilding a strong leadership structure to ensure a successful launch of the community.

Thanks for the leadership of Doug Barbour – Harmac Pacific, Chair of the APC, and assistance of PAPTAC Liaison Councillor, Robert Dufresne – Resolute FP, we were able to set up a strong steering group as well as an overwhelming membership comprised of over 60 with representatives from all kraft operations in Canada.

Look out for activities – and especially Webinars – that will be announced in the coming weeks. Mill tours, problem-solving roundtables and technical meetings will also be part of the APC’s yearly agenda.

The focus of the APC is to:
Help our members assist their respective operations and ultimately satisfy customers' needs.

We do this through open discussion, based on real life practice, on:
• Raw material and (novel) equipment use
• Optimizing employee performance
• Environmental diligence • Quality assurance
