Patrice J. Mangin, recipient of the Lionel-Boulet Award 2021

Patrice J. Mangin, will be awarded the Lionel-Boulet 2021 Award on November 10, 2021.

The Lionel-Boulet Award has been awarded since 1999 to a person who has led a remarkable career in research in the industrial field. All sectors of activity are recognized for this award.

Professor at the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières (UQTR) in the Department of Chemical Engineering, and now in the Department of Management, Patrice J. Mangin has a brilliant career in science and business. At UQTR, he heads the Institute for Innovations in Ecomaterials, Ecoproducts and Energy (I2E3) based on biomass, in addition to holding the Research Chair in regional bioeconomy / bioenergy. Patrice J. Mangin is also the founder and CEO of Bioenergy La Tuque. It was when he saw the forest residues left in the surrounding area that he had the idea to turn it into raw material to produce renewable diesels, gasolines and kerosene.

The Lionel-Boulet Award recognizes his remarkable career in research in the industrial field. “When I heard the news, I was speechless! I didn’t believe it because there are so many people out there who deserve it. I am very honored that the members of the jury selected me this year. "

Patrice Mangin has been a member of PAPTAC since 1977. He is one of the founders of the journal J-FOR and was Chairman of the Executive Council in 2011 and 2012. He was awarded the John S. Bates Gold Medal in 2016, the highest distinction awarded to a member of the Association. Patrice is Honorary Life Member of PAPTAC.
