PaperWeek Canada 2019 is just behind us and we are happy to announce it was again a huge success!

Over 800 took part in the 105th edition of PaperWeek Canada. Over 250 participants from mills were also registered for the event, making the event one of the best industry events in the world ratio-wise. Furthermore, the PaperWeek tradeshow was sold out with close to 45 exhibitors present to showcase their services and technology.

The Opening Breakfast CEO Panel on the industry’s future and the rise of the forest bioeconomy set the tone for the week. The PaperWeek and BIOFOR joint luncheons were a smashing success all week, with the very first panel on “Advancing Women in Leadership Roles” as one of the underlying highlights of this year's conference.

Finland's Ambassador to Canada set the stage for Thursday's PAPTAC Awards’ Luncheon, with a strong emphasis on the great historical relationship between the Finnish and Canadian Forest industry. PAPTAC ambassadors and leaders were recognized during the Awards ceremony for their work and dedication to our Association and the Pulp & Paper and Forest Industry, with Dr. Theo van de Ven being awarded PAPTAC's highest recognition: the John S. Bates Gold Medal.

Technical and managerial sessions were crowded, thanks to the great and timely program that was put in place, and the networking coffee breaks and receptions allowed participants to interact with their peers and exchange on their learnings and experience, one of the greatest value of participating in the conference.

Stay tuned for the detailed recap of the event, coming shortly.
