FIBRE Commercialization Forum

This year’s Commercialization Forum has an exciting objective: to entice industry leaders to invest further to make hot FIBRE discoveries a commercial success.
This forum chaired by Dr. Roger Gaudreault, Cascades Corporate Director of Scientific Development, will feature four “shovel-ready” academic discoveries highlighted in FIBRE’s White Paper to industrial decision makers in a Dragon’s Den format.

Successful Replication of Innovative Technologies

New technologies are often coupled with many risks that prevent companies from moving forward with innovation. The IFIT program provides funding to companies to help de-risk these innovative technologies with the goal of helping first-movers and encouraging replication throughout the Canadian forest sector.
This session will focus on discussing how companies can replicate the success of other first movers while understanding and managing some of the barriers and risks inherent in implementing new and innovative technologies.

Facilitated Session on Transformation of the Industry: Share where you believe we need to focus?

Over the last decade,large efforts were invested in transforming the industry and developing innovations. Through intensive R&D, many processes for the production of new materials and chemicals were developed and are tested in new andexisting markets for the forest product industry.
During this session, we will tap into participants experiences and evaluate where the stakeholders (Industry, Governments, Research Organisations, Colleges and Universities) priorities should be and what is necessary to enable the transformation.
