We are pleased to announce that the PMTC has expanded its scope and will now be referred to as the PaperMaking Technology Community of PAPTAC.
Building on what has been one of PAPTAC's stronger technical networks through the Paper Machine Technology Community for several years, the new and improved PMTC, under the leadership of Chairman Louis Morimanno of Omya, will expand from its traditional area of Paper Machine operations to cover a broader base of topics and disciplines from stock prep to reel including papermaking chemistry and additives.
"The Executive Council is pleased to see this evolution in one of PAPTAC's flagship communities. We see this as a natural evolution that will allow the PMTC to more completely address challenges and opportunities in papermaking with a wider base of stakeholders in today's operations"
- Greg Hay, Director, PAPTAC
The PMTC has 4 webinars currently planned for 2014: 1) Dryer steam syphon/spoiler bars (May 30th); 2) Press felts troubleshooting; 3) Machine profile troubleshooting; and 4) Winder troubleshooting. The PMTC is also working on organizing the 5th edition of the Paper Machine Efficiency & Productivity Seminar which will be held in conjunction with PaperWeek 2015 next February in Montreal, QC.
