PAPTAC - Pulp and Paper Technical Association of Canada

PaperWeek Canada 2013 National Job Fair

The key employers of the industry...
    many future workforce attendees...
    one location!

Workforce renewal is a growing need in the industry and it’s not showing signs of disappearing. In a labour market report by the Forest Products Sector Council, indicates that the industry will have fill up to 130 000 positions by 2020. Whether it is for mechanics, engineers, electricians or equipment operators, opportunities are numerous for anyone willing to work in this evolving sector.

This presents the backdrop to this important challenge of the coming years, for which PAPTAC and its industry partners wish to play an active role and utilize the visibility of PaperWeek Canada’s national platform to help meet this goal.

In order to meet one of its key objectives which is career development, PAPTAC developed a new component to PaperWeek Canada’s program to help create and strengthen ties between its industry & student members, the educational community, and the workplace.

The 1st edition of PaperWeek Canada’s National Job Fair will take place on February 5 and 6, 2013 at the Queen Elizabeth hotel in Montreal (QC). This new initiative is intended to serve the global pulp & paper and forest industry as a strategy aiming to accelerate the meeting process between prospective employers and future employees in a dynamic environment allowing to explore career opportunities and maximize the exchange of information between those two parties.

This forum will serve as a platform where employers will promote their company as a rewarding workplace and allow the face to face meeting of qualified candidates, and in return will give candidates an opportunity to interact and build relationships that will lead to a possible access to existing or future vacancies. This job fair also represents an opportunity for companies to meet and discuss  with the educational community in charge of the training of your future technicians and engineers.
