    Maintenance Planner - Garage & Material Handling


    The Opportunity:
    Canfor is currently seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our Northwood Pulpmill team as a Maintenance Planner - Garage & Material Handling


    The Role:
    As a Garage & Material Handling Maintenance Planner, you will apply your knowledge of pulp mill processes/equipment and mechanical trades to plan, schedule, co-ordinate and monitor all aspects of regular maintenance activities. Also, with safety as a first priority, you will supervise multi-trade crews engaged in project and regular maintenance work on a daily basis.


    Key Responsibilities:



    • You have knowledge of maintenance management systems and use them to assist in coordination of work orders

    • Develop and Maintain BOM's as well as PM programs for Mobile Equipment and Material Handling crews

    • Plan work by determining work types, schedule, and priority. Insure work scope, parts, tools, instructions and other arrangements are made to complete planned work and approve work to be completed

    • Work with the General Supervisor to develop:

      • Weekly PM schedule / Fleet replacement plans / Equipment overhaul schedules and create, update and archive equipment files.



    • Identify and recommend preventative measures to be implemented that is cost-effective within the pulp mill

    • Facilitate and promote a safe and positive working environment for all employees under your direction

    • Ensure that the established safety and cost performance objectives are met or exceeded on a consistent basis

    • Provide leadership, guidance and promote open communication for all employees under your direction


    The Candidate:



    • Supervisory and/or planner experience in a heavy duty or automotive environment.

      • Heavy Duty or Automotive Technician Certification



    • Strong planning and organizational skills as well as the flexibility to handle constantly changing work priorities are essential as is computer proficiency.

    • Supervisory experience.

    • 3 – 5 years of maintenance planning and scheduling experience, preferably in a pulp mill (or similar) environment

    • Computer literate:

      • MS Office, MS Project, Oracle (Synergen)



    • Excellent communication skills
