    Jenna Hazelton - Mill Champion

    Jenna Hazelton
    Process Engineer at Irving Paper

Jenna Hazelton is a recent Dalhousie University and Nova Scotia Agricultural College graduate from Truro, Nova Scotia. After university, she started full time as a process engineer in the TMP Department at Irving Paper in June of 2011. In her new role, Jenna will focus on TMP process optimization and troubleshooting along with coordinating trials and process improvement initiatives throughout the department.

Jenna has also completed three summer work terms in the mill; in both the TMP and Finishing and Shipping Departments. She brings her operational experience from these work terms to her new process engineering role.

Jenna became interested in a career in the Pulp and Paper industry early in her university education. The challenges the industry provides, along with the ever changing process and products drew her into a process engineering role in the TMP department. Every day is a learning experience and provides an exciting and fulfilling work environment.

Jenna is a new face to the industry and the Atlantic Branch of PAPTAC. She has taken over a colleague’s role as the Irving Paper mill champion along with the Vice-Chairperson role for the Atlantic Branch for the time being. She is quickly learning the function of the organization and the benefits it provides to the paper industry, particularly in the Atlantic Provinces. As a mill champion, she will help spread the word of what PAPTAC offers to the employees of Irving Paper.
