DESCRIPTION
A successful Mill Manager creates a productive environment to work in as well as the drive and impetus to make things happen. He must balance technical and management skills, improve productivity and reduce costs, juggle different views and perspectives, abide by strict regulations and deal with different backgrounds and personalities. He needs to maintain focus ensuring the team's performance is optimized and the projects and mills objectives are met.
The Mill Manager of the Year Award recognizes the Mill Manager who has best demonstrated these competencies, and the results thereof, through his/her leadership.
The award will be presented annually unless the judging committee considers that no suitable candidate has been nominated.
Eligibility
The Awards are designed to reward mills and individuals involved in the pulp & paper and forest-based industry and are open to participants from across Canada. Those submitting an entry for their mill or for an individual should check with their mill management/head office to ensure they have the approval to enter the Awards.
