The PAPTAC Standard Methods Committee will be officially dissolved as of October 1, 2015, based on PAPTAC's Executive Council recommendation. The status of this committee has been widely discussed among all committee members and PAPTAC Councillors, and the dissolution has been chosen as the most logical outcome due to the lack of industry's support and participation. The main reason being that the increased trend is to use ISO or TAPPI standards instead of PAPTAC methods due to the fact that most of Canadian pulp and paper products are exported.
