PAPTAC leaders to participate in PACWEST Opening Forum

PAPTAC Executive Councillors Robert Dufresne, Mill Manager at Canfor - Northwood and Tom Johnstone, Senior Consultant - Buckman Canada will be participating in the PACWEST Opening forum, Thursday May 31st in Jasper, AB (www.pacwestcon.net).
The forum will be moderated by Robert Dufresne and will feature a panel of industry experts on this year's theme Sustainability through People & Technology. "My participation as PAPTAC Councillor is a great way to maximize exchanges within the industry, share best practices and promote our industry. The PACWEST conference is a great vehicle to achieve this and this year's theme is very timely as one of the major challenges for the future will be to ensure that we have qualified people willing to work for us and that we will maximize the usage of technology to minimize the resource required to manufacture our products."
Tom Johnstone will be participating as one of the panelists and through his vast experience with Buckman in serving the industry for over 4 decades will give a perspective on the conference theme of Sustainability through People & Technology. “Relationship building through networking, and learning through exchange of knowledge & ideas are key tools for Sustainability. As such PAPTAC and the PacWest Conference offer great opportunities to do so. As a PAPTAC Councillor I am excited about the new initiatives we are undertaking to add value to our members in providing such a venue for connectivity and learning. These include the Canadian Mill Managers' Community that was launched in 2011 and the Technology Webinars being organized by the PAPTAC Communities.”
