Participation at PaperWeek Canada keeps growing!
The 98th edition of PaperWeek Canada was a success with over 609 in attendance, an increase of 200 from the previous year. Several commented on the improved format for this edition, which provided a blend of business, emerging and technical sessions as well as the return of the tradeshow. The business track was very well attended throughout the event and provided a forum to present and discuss strategies being developed to steer the transformation of the industry. The 2nd International Forest Biorefinery Symposium, which featured six complete sessions was held simultaneously to the technical sessions and received great interest as well. The addition of the CRIBIQ symposium on Monday and the Paper Machine Efficiency Seminar on Thursday & Friday were also well received and attended. One of the great successes of the event continues to be the PaperWeek luncheons, which were all filled to capacity. Each luncheon featured a keynote presentation, with Avrim Lazar President & CEO of FPAC on Tuesday, the Honourable Joe Oliver, Minister of Natural Resources on Wednesday, and a panel on Dissolving Pulp on Thursday. For all of those who want to stay abreast of what is in store for PaperWeek Canada 2013, continue to follow us on www.paperweekcanada.ca and www.twitter.com/paperweekcanada, where new information, updates and announcements will be available on a regular basis. On behalf of PAPTAC, I would like to take this opportunity and sincerely thank all participants, speakers, session chairs and corporate sponsors for their involvement and valued support.

Sylvain Dubois, a founder and president of Bonetti Canada at the time and known for his expertise in the pulp and paper industry, was passionate with work and life.

Traveling for business on January 8, 2003, he never returned, because the aircraft in which he was riding crashed.

After going through this difficult challenge and being transformed by it, Sonia Reid, his wife, tells us, through a vibrant and authentic story, her journey and her quest. « Et la vie continue… » will be on bookstore shelves on March 7.
